FORM DRESSING ROLLS
The flexible partner for dressing
Form dressing rolls are used for dressing all vitrified bonded grinding wheels as well as the conditioning of boron nitride and diamond grinding wheels on CNC machines.
The prerequisite for the use of these rotating tools is the installation of a sufficiently dimensioned work spindle on the machine side. Diamond form dressing rolls are not workpiece-bound. Profiling is kinematically controlled via the machine axis.
Diamant Weber can produce the finest radius and tangent profiles.

angle 10° - radius 0.20 mm
angle 30° - radius 0.10 mm
angle 40° - radius 0.20 mm
Angle 60° - radius 0.03 mm
The total tolerance of the radius is ≤ 2 μm.
Workpiece surface finishes of Ra 0.025 are readily achievable.
Forming rolls with synthetic diamond coating can be regrinded several times. Their preferred use is in the production of smaller radii or in the conditioning of highly abrasive grinding wheels. A high packing density of the diamonds at the dressing zone counteracts high wear.
Naturally set form rolls are used to produce large profile radii and, in contrast to coatings with synthetic diamonds, cannot be regrinded.
